Cosa supportano realmente le evidenze
Associato a una minore attività della malattia e a una migliore qualità della vita; lo studio DINE-CD ha trovato che è comparabile alla dieta a carboidrati specifici per il sollievo dei sintomi nella malattia di Crohn. [1]
Principalmente osservazionale per endpoint infiammatori definiti. È un'opzione sensata piuttosto che una terapia mirata.
Dove si inserisce
Il segnale è coerente ma gli studi sono piccoli, brevi, o entrambi. È ragionevole provare sotto supervisione, e irragionevole presentarlo come risolto.
Come classifichiamo questi
Quattro classificazioni grossolane piuttosto che un punteggio. "Stabilito" significa studi randomizzati o approvazione delle linee guida. "Promettente" significa un segnale coerente da studi che sono piccoli o brevi. "Limitato" significa solo evidenze meccanicistiche o osservazionali. "Popolare ma debole" significa ampiamente utilizzato e poco supportato — una categoria che esiste perché fingere che quegli approcci non esistano non aiuta nessuno.
