Умора

Умората е сред най-често съобщаваните симптоми при IBD и сред най-малко третирани. Тя остава при голяма част от хората, чието възпаление е контролирано, което означава, че не е просто маркер на активността на заболяването.

Причинители включват анемия (дефицит на желязо е много често срещан и коригируем), нарушения на съня, ефекти от медикаменти, хронично възпаление и психологичното натоварване на непредсказуемо заболяване. Процентите на тревожност и депресия при IBD значително надвишават фоновите проценти. Епидемиология

Честотата на IBD е висока и стабилна в Европа и Северна Америка и рязко нараства в новоиндустриализираните страни. Тази географска картина е един от най-силните аргументи за екологичен компонент — диета, хигиена, антибиотици и микробиомът са всички кандидати, и нито един не е установен.
