Väsimus

Väsimus on üks sagedamini teatatud sümptomeid IBD korral ja üks harvemini ravitud sümptomeid. See püsib suurel osal inimestest, kelle põletik on kontrolli all, mis tähendab, et see ei ole pelgalt haigusaktiivsuse näitaja.

Epidemioloogia

IBD haigestumus on Euroopas ja Põhja-Ameerikas kõrge ja stabiilne ning kasvab järsult äsja industrialiseerunud riikides. See geograafiline muster on üks tugevamaid argumente keskkonnateguri olemasolu kasuks — kandidaatideks on toitumine, hügieen, antibiootikumid ja mikrobioom, kuid ükski neist pole tõestatud.
